Hello Awesome Readers!
My blog was humming along nicely in 2018 and 2019. I was putting out 2-3 posts per week and always had a notebook full of ideas for future content. But 2020 was a mess with lockdowns, travel restrictions and general unrest. It got really hard to put out positive and non redundant content, so I took a bit of a pause. This year I am trying to dust it off and get it up and running again, which is why I decided to do a visual upgrade. Sometimes a fresh coat of paint brightens things up and brings some new perspective.
When you change blog theme templates, you always end up finding a few surprises that you can’t see in the trial simulator. This was no exception. There are a few features included on the posts that I wasn’t expecting, and which can’t be changed. The theme added the Category (in red) for the post in the title area, lists any Tags for the post at the bottom of the page and will now add an Author section with a bio on each new post. There are a lot things I really like with this template, but I am still not sure how I feel about these extra features.
Since it’s really all about what you readers think, please take a moment to tell me what you like and what you don’t. You won’t be able to miss the new comment area (looks like an envelope) that was also part of the new theme. Here are a few general questions I have, but please include any additional thoughts you have as well.
- Take a moment to scroll down the sidebar. Helpful content or too busy?
- Do the new post features that I outlined detract from the content?
- Do you like the new color palette?
- What would you like to see that is not included on the page?
- Is it too informal now?
- Should I keep the new layout or switch it back?
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts. As always, thanks for your continued support!
