Hotel Review – Hilton Paris Opera

My daughter and I took 10-day trip to Paris in May. We spent the first 2 nights at the Hilton Paris Opera hotel located in the beautiful Opera district of central Paris.

We reserved a Superior room for 80,000 Hilton Honors Honors points per night. Because I have Hilton Diamond status, the hotel planned to upgrade us to a Queen Deluxe room with a balcony. We had a long flight from Detroit with an early arrival into Paris and wanted to freshen up before venturing into the city. With that in mind, we opted for a Queen Deluxe room without a balcony because it would be ready sooner.

Quite a big difference!

BAR/LOUNGE

The first thing you notice when arriving at the hotel is the grand Lobby which leads into the Bar and Lounge area. The sun filtered through purple stained glass skylights creating the perfect backdrop for several large chandeliers. In typical Parisian style, these areas were adorned with wrought iron railing, columns, intricate detail work, and plenty of marble. This elegant hotel was a feast for the eyes.

EXECUTIVE LOUNGE

The Front Desk Agent gave us a key to the Executive Lounge, so our next stop was to enjoy a snack and relax while we waited for the room to be available. Even though we arrived during an off time, there was a selection of fruit, cheese and beverages available. We really appreciated the quiet space to recharge after our hectic morning arrival into Paris.

During the remainder of our stay, we enjoyed lovely breakfasts in the lounge as well as afternoon Happy Hours with wine and snacks. Our favorite window table had a view of this interesting McDonald’s. We loved the King, the stork perched on top, and how different this building was from those surrounding it.

THE ROOM

Although we did not end up with a Juliet balcony, the large windows let abundant natural light into the room. The walls were adorned with black and white murals of historic Paris and there was a cozy sitting area located next to the windows.

The room was equipped with air conditioning which isn’t always the case in European hotels. We had a desk and a dresser as well as a safe, a minibar and a coffee maker tucked inside the armoire. The beds at Hilton hotels are my absolute favorite. This room had a comfy Queen size bed with plenty of fluffy pillows.

During previous stays in Europe, I have encountered some very small bathrooms. I was pleasantly surprised at how large and bright this bathroom was. It had heated floors, good lighting and there was plenty of space for 2 gals to spread out all our toiletries. The shower was spacious with my favorite combination of a rainfall shower head and a moveable hand-held wand.

OUR STAY

Because it was our first 2 nights in Paris, we were too busy to spend much time in the hotel. It’s Paris and we were surrounded by so many amazing places to eat that we didn’t find time to check out the bar or other hotel dining options.

We were headed on an overnight trip to Versailles when we checked out of the hotel. The Concierge allowed us to leave our large luggage behind in their bag room for no additional charge and the Bellman went above and beyond to help us secure our transportation.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE…

  • The Hilton Paris Opera was a great fit for us because it was literally steps away from the Saint Lazare Train/Metro station. That made it super easy for us to travel about in Paris.
  • We received a generous room upgrade and access to the Executive Lounge for complimentary snacks, drinks, and breakfast.
  • The hotel is bookable with Hilton Honors points
  • The Common areas were gorgeous and the Bellman were always very attentive.

We had a chance to experience 5 different hotels during our trip to Paris. I would rate this hotel as a solid number 3 and would 100% stay there again.
