5 Travel Inspired Boxes

Subscription Boxes have been the rage for the last few years.  Everything from Fab Fit Fun (beauty/fashion), Stitch Fix (fashion), Bark Box (dog toys/treats), to a plethora of different meal planning kits.  I will admit, I have tried several and find them to be kind of fun.

Sometimes you have full control over what is in the boxes, while other times you only get to pick a few things  or sometimes you get no control at all on the items you get.  It’s a surprise.  If you like these kinds of boxes and you like to travel, here are a few travel inspired subscription boxes you might like.

The Wanderpak

This program is not a subscription box but instead a one time purchase so no long term commitments.  It also gives you a few different options to choose from.

  1. Buy a Gift Card
  2. Order a Wanderpak based on your travel destination and style for $58
  3. BYOB – Build Your Own Box for $25 and up

With the Wanderpak, you first enter your destination and travel style.  They choose between 10 and 13 travel items for your box based on that criteria and also include informative travel tips and a mini travel guide.

If you prefer more control over what is in your box, choose to Build Your Own Box.  You get to select from a long list of travel items like luggage tags, biodegradable rain ponchos, universal adapters and waterproof phone bags.

It’s also nice to know that they are giving back 2% of all sales to non-profit organizations dedicated to environmental causes.

The Wordy Traveler

Two Wordy Traveler is a Quarterly Book Club Subscription box that offers 2 options.

  • The Full Suitcase featuring 3 books, tea from the region, a custom art print and some surprises.  Priced between $109.99 and $569.99 per box.
  • The Backpacking Edition includes only 1 book, tea from the region, a custom art print and some surprises.  Priced between $49 and $228.00 per box.

Both boxes give back to help girls and women across the world have access to education! All the items are ethically sourced and the books are selected to inspire your wanderlust.

The Spicery

The Spicery was the first recipe subscription dating back to 2006.  They offer a myriad of options based on your cooking style or flavor profile.  Their Monthly subscription box contains recipe cards and freshly ground spices from around the world packed neatly in a mailbox sized package for around $30 a box.  If you prefer not to do a monthly subscription, they also have a wide range of spice related products and gifts that you can buy on their site.  My personal favorite is the 12 Curries of Christmas Advent Calendar!

Try the World

Try the World is a monthly subscription box that sends you gourmet food and snacks from around the world (Spain, Sweden, France and more).  The regular box is $39 per month and there is also a Snacks only box that is just $19 per month.  Shipping is free on subscription boxes shipped within the contiguous US.  There is also an option to purchase gift certificates.

Cairn

Cairn is a monthly subscription box that sends you top of the line outdoor products, gear and snacks.  There are many options to choose from to get a more personalized kit.  Additionally, you can arrange to pay monthly, every 6 months or annually.  Kitted is a  new feature (similar to Stitch Fix), that sends you outdoor gear and apparel to test.  You keep only what you like.

Boxing it All Up

Treat yourself to a box!  The cool thing is that these are only a few of the options available out there.  You can find boxes tailored to almost any style that fits your needs.

I’m really interested in ordering from the Spicery.  If you checked out any of these sites from the handy teal links I included, you probably noted that in addition to the subscriptions, there are a lot of great gifting ideas available as well.  With the holidays coming, I always have my eyes peeled for new and unique gift ideas for the awesome people on my list. I sure hope they have all been good this year!
