Now that Labor Day is over, fall is just around the corner. Looking for something fun to do? Why not check out Halloweekends at Cedar Point. Cedar Point is an amusement park that sits right on lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. They have a great menu of roller coasters, water rides, shows and attractions for all ages. Cedar Point is listed #18 on Trip Advisor’s Top 25 Best Amusement Parks. I have been there countless times over the years since it is a reasonable drive from our home. My favorite time of year to go is during their Halloweekends.
2019 Dates: 9/14-10/27
I like to head there on a Friday night and stay at one of the on-site hotels. If you buy a room and ticket package online, you get free park entry on Friday night and early entry on Saturday morning. This gives you 2 nights to explore the after dark activities plus time to enjoy the rides during the day. It’s also nice when you stay on the property to be able to go back to the room and change, have a snack or grab a nap before heading back for the evening.
They have around 25 different Halloween themed attractions ranging from mazes, shows, scare zones and haunted areas to their haunted house style sites that are a real scream. Scare Zones are areas located all through the park that are inhabited by random spooks that sneak up on you or jump out to give you a fright. Sometimes you get an unsettling feeling only to discover creepsters or zombies have been following you!
If you are looking for a little less scary adventure for the wee ones, then the Great Pumpkin Fest is just the thing. Snoopy hosts the Camp Spooky Dance Party, there is a Great Pumpkin Parade and lots of activities geared for the kiddies.
