Ibotta Hidden Gems

I have used Ibotta for about 1 1/2 years now and I really like it. It’s simple to use, it doesn’t take a lot of time to manage, it includes rebates on things I already buy, and it is easy for me to earn extra money for my travel fund without much effort.

Here are some tips for Maximizing Savings and Utilizing Hidden Gems on the app.

If you use The Ibotta Rebate App, don’t forget to Find Offers at Any Bar or Restaurant. Sometimes they have offers on a brand of beer, wine or cocktail spirits that we order when out.

When they do, I usually get rebates of $1 to $1.50 per drink on beer $2.00 per glass of wine or $2.00 – $3.00 on spirits.

These deals change about once monthly so check them out at the beginning of the new month to see if any of your faves are on the list. If you do, take note of how many you can claim per receipt. I feel like this is sort of an Ibotta hidden gem.

Always check for Bonuses for buying multiple products from a list, meeting a Particular number of claimed Rebates challenge goal, or doing your shopping on the weekend.

The product combo rebates will show up for you:

  1. When you add any one of the products to Your Offers
  2. When you claim a Rebate for one of the products it tells you how far you are toward achieving the Bonus
  3. If you go to My Account then Bonuses you will see the full list of available Bonuses

Bonuses are the real deal of Free Money! Ibotta often offers Weekend Challenge Bonuses so if you claim X number of Rebates you get a bonus of usually $3-$5.

Every month you and your Team have Team Work Bonuses. Here was the July Team Work Bonus plan:

  1. For Level 1 claim 7 Rebates get a .50 Bonus
  2. For Level 2 claim 12 more Rebates get a $1.00 Bonus
  3. So the Rebate number increases and the Bonus doubles at each level

They offer Bonuses for all kinds of random things each month. They are just an easy way to add a few dollars to your total.

Of course there are Referral Credits and Bonuses if you meet the current goal, special promotions listed on the sites scrolling header, and sometimes one time Rebate Bonuses for placing an order through a particular site like Boxed or Groupon. Although I usually prefer to use Ebates over Ibotta for online items, sometimes these promotional Bonuses sway me to use Ibotta instead.

If you use a rebate that’s really good, it usually becomes available again within 48 hours. You will be able to add it to Your Offers again and purchase the allowed amount a second time.

Sometimes when I am stacking a sale price with a rebate, I buy the allowed rebate number then swing in to buy additional product later in the week. Last week Light & Fit yogurt was $1.00 per cup. You could buy 5 cups and get .50 back per cup! I did this twice during the week. I also stacked Overnight Oats register coupons for $1.00/2 with get $1.00 Rebate on 2 both times. I am set for weekday breakfasts for 2 weeks and spent $14.76 plus got $7.00 in Rebates and a Bonus.

So if you are using Ibotta I hope this helps you be more familiar with ways to maximize your earnings. If you are not using it, here is a link if you want to give it a try. It’s free, what’s to lose!
